I am a painter and a designer, a writer, a wife, a mother, a ‘foodie’, and an activist. I live in an old farm house on a country road near a small village in Vermont. The beauty that surrounds me is a constant pleasure. I enjoy creating new things – whether it’s a new painting or a new salad – and then sharing the results, hoping for a positive response. I paint with both watercolors and oils, do graphic design, garden and cook.
When I write recipes, I think of teaching my two sons to cook when they were quite young.
My sons are married and we often talk about food. Sometimes we talk about a recent meal but more often we share recipes. They are both great cooks.
My husband, Charles, is an architect and writer. We edit for each other. Although Charles is not a cook he is a great sous chef and is tireless when it comes to restoring order in the kitchen after I have been whirling around in a creative frenzy.
We will be spending two months in Siracusa, Sicily this Spring and I look forward to walking to the open air market to get local food and then cooking it in my Sicilian kitchen.
I will be blogging every day when we are in Sicily.
